This story aired on Stay Tuned and NBC News Now. I won a national Gracie Award in 2022 for Best Digital Video. This reporting was incredibly impactful and I surprisingly uncovered a piece of my own personal history along the way.
DIY Classroom Economy - Financial Literacy
This story aired on TODAY, Nightly News, Stay Tuned and NBC News Now. I won a national Front Page Award in 2024 for Best Digital Video. This story was filled with emotion, heart and the importance of setting up the next generation for success. The extended cut on YouTube outperformed our previous videos, with the YouTube short gaining over 1 million views.
Closing the gap - Homeownership
For Black History Month, I launched a series called 'Closing the Gap' to highlight people who are actively working to fight against systemic inequities. This episode was about homeownership and won a Front Page Award for Best Digital Reporting in 2023.
Howard University Student Protests -
I spoke with several students at Howard University as they protested against state of their mold-filled campus dorms. I filed two reports on this story and together, they won a Front Page Award in 2022 for Best Digital Reporting.
